Two eyes in the dark, a face made of stone fragments lit by warm light, a small star in each pupil.

Order isn’t control. It’s making room.

I look at every project like a plain covered in scattered fragments. That’s only the starting point. Having vision means seeing the finished shape before you move the first piece.

Michelangelo carved by drawing the figure out of a block of marble that was shapeless at first. That’s what I do.

I kept only two colors: the dark of obsidian and the light of ivory. Obsidian is volcanic lava that cooled so fast it turned to glass. It is chaos frozen into a solid shape. Ivory is the clear light that lets you see it.

When you take away the noise, what’s left weighs more.
